Gorbe Irani is a small CFA registered cattery breeding Himalayans & Persians. We are located in Flower Mound
Texas, a suburb in the Dallas/Ft Worth Metroplex. We breed foremost for healthy, joyous kittens with the sweet open expression Persian Cats are known for. All breeding cats have been or are in the process of being DNA PKD tested.
It all started with "Parsi", a flame Point Himalayan I bought
on January 10, 1998 as a birthday present for my husband. Everyone who saw her encouraged me to breed her so I could give them a kitten. Although she actually was sold with breeding rights, it never came to pass for a number of reasons. But I did begin to research what I would need to learn and a year later, had my first litter. I began to go on line and to read every article and book I could find to learn more about breeding this wonderful breed and came to realize there was a lot more than putting two pretty cats together.
Eventually, I found my way to CFA's website and many others where there were breeders with beautiful cats. Unfortunately, I was unknown to these people and they were not about to trust a
"newbie" with their precious babies. So I
first registered a Cattery name with CFA , and requested a mentor. A short time later I got a call from Maria Parisi of Bedoroses who offered to mentor me.
First thing Maria told me was I had to get a cat to show in Premiership. She explained that was the way I would meet breeders and learn about showing and breeding. Within a very short time, she located a cat for me. In July of 2004, I attended my
very first cat show. Waiting there for me was my brand new baby. All groomed, neutered and ready to show.
"Cacao Parviz Delam of Gorbe Irani", a solid black CPC stole my heart and at 6 months old, made two finals taking 6th & 9th Best Kitten. Not bad for a first show! I will always be grateful to Janet & Carissa Altschul for allowing this beautiful boy to own me. He is
now GP Cacao Parviz Delam of Gorbe Irani and was The Atlantic Himalayan Club’s 4th best CPC in
Premiership in 2004-2005.
I was lucky enough to get another mentor, Judy Harper of Jude Persians, who has had me over to witness many kitten births and worked tirelessly drumming genetics into me. With the help of these two wonderful friends, I began to expand my knowledge and my breeding program and am now looking forward to my first homegrown grand.
All pet kittens are sold with a spay/neuter agreement. I am vehemently opposed to declawing so a
"no declaw" clause is part of my contract as well.
Please take a look at my beautiful babies and come back to visit often.
